Pharmaceutical CDMO website design requires a strategic balance between technical credibility and user accessibility. This project involved the UX/UI design and WordPress development of a corporate website for Frontier Biopharma’s Serbian subsidiary, Zdravlje—a pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization with over 70 years of industry experience. Following Frontier’s 2021 acquisition, the company needed a digital presence that would communicate both their global CDMO capabilities and regional commercial expertise in Central and Eastern European markets, while establishing trust with pharmaceutical partners evaluating manufacturing and distribution partnerships.

UX Strategy & Research

The project began with a comprehensive analysis of the pharmaceutical CDMO sector and Frontier Biopharma’s dual positioning—as both a global contract manufacturing partner and a regional commercial expert in Central and Eastern Europe.

Research focused on understanding the decision-making process of pharmaceutical companies seeking manufacturing partners, where trust, compliance credentials, and operational transparency are paramount. User interviews and competitive analysis revealed that potential clients prioritize quick access to service capabilities, quality certifications, and clear evidence of expertise. The information architecture was structured to serve two distinct user journeys: prospective CDMO clients evaluating manufacturing capabilities, and pharmaceutical companies exploring commercial partnerships in CEE markets.

Design Approach

The visual design system needed to bridge Frontier Biopharma’s global presence with Zdravlje’s 70+ year legacy in Serbia.

I developed a clean, professional aesthetic anchored by the distinctive pill symbol motif that appears throughout the site as a visual thread. The color palette and typography reinforce pharmaceutical industry standards while maintaining approachability.

Key design decisions included prominent service categorization with image-driven cards, a statistics module to communicate scale and credibility, and dedicated leadership sections to humanize the organization. The WordPress implementation prioritized content flexibility, allowing the team to easily update news, team members, and service offerings while maintaining design consistency across all pages.

Results & Impact

The website successfully positions Frontier Zdravlje as a credible, transparent partner in the pharmaceutical manufacturing space.

The clear service taxonomy and intuitive navigation enable prospects to quickly assess capabilities and find relevant information. The testimonial integration and leadership visibility build trust, while the news section demonstrates ongoing innovation and market activity. The dual-brand presentation effectively communicates the company’s unique position as both independently driven and globally connected, supporting business development efforts across European markets.
